About Us

Out2gether was founded in 2017 by Nicola and Sarennah Longworth-Cook.

It has grown to over 100 members on social media including adults of all ages from all parts of the LGBT+ community, plus allies.

Our meetings are small (usually between 10 and 15 people) and friendly – we always welcome new people and encourage you to join us!

Out2gether are here if you need us

We are a friendly, community driven group for LGBT+ adults living in and around Worcestershire.

Our aim is to bring ‘Friendship, Support and Community’ for the LGBT+ community, by providing opportunities in safe spaces to meet and socialise.

JUST A LITTLE NOTE: Out2gether is a group for adults. If you are under 18 you may attend but you will need to accompanied by a responsible adult (family member or friend). If you are looking for an LGBT+ youth group or support for a young LGBT+ person you might find it useful to contact Malvern Cube who host a weekly LGBT+ youth group during term times.

Out2gether are a constituted community group. We have our own bank account and are run by a committee who are elected from our membership at our Annual General Meeting in January each year.

Our Aims are to bring Friendship, Support and Community to LGBT+ people and our allies throughout Worcestershire.

To promote and support the well-being of LGBT+ people and those affected by LGBT+ issues in Worcestershire.

To educate and inform the wider general public and statutory bodies in the area of benefit regarding LGBT+ issues.

To provide a safe space for LGBT+ people, their families and friends to meet.

To recruit and train volunteers to facilitate group events and one-to-one support.

To challenge the under-reporting of hate crime and to support those who are affected by such crimes.

To provide a consultation opportunity to statutory and other agencies.

We engage with local statutory bodies and can offer consultation and training for organisations looking to improve their LGBT+ awareness.

Nicola and Sarennah (of the rainbow hat fame) moved to Malvern in August 2014. Previously they had lived in Reading where they had an involvement with BeYou (an LGBT Helpline) and Thames Valley LGBT Chorus (known then as ‘Reading Gay Chorus’).

On moving to Worcestershire, they hoped to get involved in similar groups in order to start making new friends in the area. But they struggled to find much going on.

They found The Flag but were too old to go drinking and dancing till the small hours! They did find a small group of women called ‘Malvern Lesbian Group’ who had a monthly meeting in a pub...
